Stuff I Eat is a vegan restaurant founded and run by Chef Babette (pictured in the image of this Story). The restaurant opened in 2008 and is about 95% organic. Their menu is designed to be “transitional,” for customers trying to change from an animal-based diet to a plant-based one.
Chef Babette’s mission is “to touch the lives of many while spreading the word that every woman, man and child can live a quality life by making wise food choices.” They are currently doing takeout and Postmates delivery. From burritos to stir fry to dessert and more, Chef Babette’s menu is mouth-watering. Here is a snippet from their website on the actions they take to stay organic and help the environment: “Our Promise…We use organic produce whenever possible. Our food contains no refined sugars, artificial flavors, artificial colors, or preservatives.
We will not serve any animal products…EVER! Our Motto…’Waste Not, Want Not’. In a continuing effort to reduce our carbon footprint and promote a healthy, eco-friendly lifestyle, Stuff I Eat has adopted a “No Waste” policy. If your tank is full, take your leftovers home in one of our biodegradable, eco-friendly takeout containers (for a small fee). It will make the perfect ‘that sure hits the spot’ snack later on.” If you’re able to, please support Stuff I Eat by taking out or ordering from the restaurant.
Their website assures that they’re very open to feedback, so give their menu a try and support this amazing Black-owned business in order to actively take steps to uplift the Black community. Who knows — you may even find it’s your new favorite restaurant!
