You need quick, you need easy, but you seriously need some fiber in your diet. This is a quick lunch bowl, fresh, & tasty for any SuperShe that needs something nutritious. Inspired by two SuperShe’s who are working together to make healthy delicious food, on-the-go, catering to their hectic lifestyle…on a budget Poortland Girls Pantry out of Portland, Oregon.

The Barley Bowl

Cooking and Preparation Time:
10 minutes, top!


  • Red Cabbage

  • 10 Minute Organic Barley

  • Cooked or softened Red Beet

  • Parsley

  • Raw Pumpkin Seeds or Walnuts

  • Everything Bagel Seasoning (Dried Garlic, Dried Onion, Poppy Seeds, Sesame Seeds)

  • Balsamic Glaze

  • Avocado Oil or Olive Oil

  1. Cook Barley in boiling water for 8 minutes

  2. Chop Red Cabbage

  3. Cube Red Beet (can cook in boiling water for 15 minutes to soften)

  4. Dice Parsley

  5. When Barley is cooked, drain & place in a bowl.

  6. Place all of your vegetables on top of the barley.

  7. Garnish with seasoning and seeds or walnuts.

  8. Drizzle with Avocado Oil or Olive Oil and Balsamic Glaze.
